The company, which is active in the construction sector, has a good reputation and is market leader. It has built and consolidated its market position over a long period of time. New competitors, substitute products and generally more transparent markets led to eroding price levels and margins despite good economic conditions. The initiated project was aimed at improving competitiveness and profitability. The building blocks of future success are based on increased specialisation, a lower cost base, decentralised management and an agile organisation. Restructured according to these principles, the company has repositioned itself. Units responsible for results, focused on sub-markets, were established, thus simplifying and improving customer focus, planning and management. The realignment also quickly showed the financial successes we were striving for. The accompanying cultural change is well underway.
