Independent. Objective. Influenced.

What is it about? The independence of the advisor is an essential prerequisite for the optimal execution of assignments in the consulting business. In the interest of the client. Without ifs and buts.

When is the consultant independent? To explore this question, we rephrase it: When is he influenced? With a "dependent" service, the consultant risks that his interests are not fully perceived. Others are more significant and are detrimental. From which areas can such dependencies arise?

I see two: If, on the one hand, additional interests to the advantage of the consultant play a role, such as commissions for referrals, bonuses for services rendered and the like, the work is no longer done independently. A second area concerns the professional way of working. If, consciously or unconsciously, facts are omitted and thus solutions are preferred that do not make sense from an objective point of view, then client interests are disregarded.

There can only be one interest in a management consultancy service: The well-being of the company and the recipient of the consultation. There must be no compromises here. The consultant assumes responsibility for safeguarding the interests of the client.
